The Titanic hit an iceberg four days into its crossing on the 14th of April 1912 and sank the following morning on the 15th of April 1912.
Of the 2,223 passengers on the Titanic, only 706 survived leaving 1,517 dead. The largest percentage of survivors were first class passengers, followed by second class, and finally third class.

- 685 crew members died
- 1,347 men died
- 103 women died
- 53 children died in total 1503 people were found and 14 were missing somewhere near the wreck.
