How Many Glasses Of Water Per Day

Drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day. It is recommended for EVERYONE that they drink 8 – 10 glasses (8 oz glasses) per day. If it’s very hot out and the person is perspiring they need extra water. Water along with diet also helps flush out fat. Water ALWAYS flushes out toxins in the body and keeps your kidneys and other organs in good shape. It is not wise to over-do water. In your case 10 glasses per day and if it’s really hot out and you are perspiring perfusely then 3 – 4 more glasses wouldn’t hurt. Other than that don’t over exceed water because it can flush out too many nutrients in the body.

I have no idea if you are male and body-building or male/female and just over-weight. If you feel you have an over-weight problem then there is a time when you are going to have to deal with it. Have a good physical form your doctor first because there are many things that can cause a person to become over-weight by more than 80 lbs. I have been 50 lbs. over-weight in the past and swear by “Weight Watchers.” Men and women go to the groups and are encouraged every step of the way. What I love about this diet (it isn’t really a diet, but corrective eating habits) is you can eat almost everything, but within a range. It’s not difficult to out and eat at friends homes or in a restaurant. The counselors will give you more calories to use because of your weight or possible body structure.

Everyone has heard the advice, “Drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day.” That’s about 1.9 liters, which isn’t that different from the Institute of Medicine recommendations. Although the “8 by 8″ rule isn’t supported by hard evidence, it remains popular because it’s easy to remember. Just keep in mind that the rule should be reframed as: “Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day,” because all fluids count toward the daily total.

Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water.

So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The Institute of Medicine determined that an adequate intake (AI) for men is roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day. The AI for women is 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day.
